Snowshoeing is a fun winter activity that can take you well into spring. Are you a beginner? No problem- visit a Colorado Nordic Center for equipment rental, groomed trails, maps and expert advice. Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Eldora, Keystone, and Vail Nordic Center all have great, scenic trails.

Grand County also has some of the best snowshoeing and cross country skiing trails around. Made up of Grandby, Grand Lake, Kremmling, Hot Sulphur Springs and Winter Park/Fraser, Grand County is only 67 miles from Denver. Here are a few trails, most with accommodations, nearby:
-Latigo Ranch in Kremmling: 9,000 feet above sea level, provides never-ending panoramic views of the continental divide. Rent a cabin here and enjoy home-cooked meals daily and a nice hot tub soak after a long day of hitting the trails.
–Snow Mountain Ranch near Winter Park is part of the YMCA of the Rockies: this 5,100 acre is the world’s largest YMCA and has an abundance of groomed trails to choose from.
–Devil’s Thumb Ranch tucked between Fraser and Tabernash: A little more luxury than the others, DTR offers great dining options, a 12,000 square foot spa and great snowshoeing trails for some daytime fun.
–The Grand Lake Touring Center: Over 20 miles of groomed trails that wander over what is the Grand Lake Golf Course in the summertime. No accommodations here, but an easy day trip to make from Denver.

We live in one of the most beautiful places for a reason, get out and enjoy it!

3. Grab a cocktail at The Cooper Lounge. It is set high in Union Station, which allows for nice downtown Denver views. Enjoy a high-end cocktail or choose something off the extensive wine list. The elegant, intimate setting is a great place for a romantic date night. Reservations recommended.

4. Indulge in the Microbrew Ex’beer’ience at the Ritz-Carlton Denver Spa. “This full body experience incorporates two beers from the nearby Great Divide Brewing Co. Harnessing the benefits of craft beer, your skin is left smooth, tightened and deeply hydrated. Sip a cold beer after your service. This treatment offers beneficial beer extracts like active yeasts with B vitamins and saccharides, which rejuvenate the skin while adding much needed hydration, great for Denver’s dry climate.”
If beer isn’t your thing, a classic couple’s massage is another great option.
